Early Review for Timetable Changes
Following a meeting with local MP, Joan Ruddock, Southern Trains have agreed to look at the changes to their timetable at the earliest possible opportunity.
Ms Ruddock said:
“Constituents are furious at the reduction in their services introduced in December and the further changes planned for May. I have put the complaints to both Southern and South Eastern managers who remain adamant that capacity limits at London Bridge leave them with no other options. I appreciate that many passengers elsewhere are benefiting from new services and that the extended East London Line will itself bring local benefits in May. However I remain deeply concerned about overcrowding and inconvenience.
At my request Southern have agreed that the situation will be closely monitored from May and they will provide me with the results of that monitoring at a meeting in July (when I will again strongly press for any practical improvements).
Both companies also promised better communications with passengers in the event of future bad weather.”
